Important information – Remote Desktop Connection

On 14 April 2026, Microsoft began rolling out security update KB5083769, which addresses a vulnerability identified as CVE-2026-26151. This update enhances protection against the risk of session hijacking.

This update applies to the Remote Desktop Connection software that you use to connect to our LogicalDesk and LogicalCloud servers, your internal server, or any other Remote Desktop server.

This update will soon be installed via Windows Update on your Windows computers.

What does this mean for you?

After installing this update, you will see a warning message when connecting remotely (Remote Desktop).

This message is normal and secure

You can simply accept it to continue.

You will then be asked to grant access to your computer’s resources.

In most cases, we recommend enabling the following resources:

  • Smart cards if you use an Isabel card or eID
  • Drives if you need to transfer files between your local computer and the cloud server
  • Clipboard
  • Printers

If your Remote Desktop Connection file is not signed, you will be prompted to select the resources each time you connect.

If your Remote Desktop connection file is signed, you will be prompted to verify the resources each time you connect.

Do you need to do anything?

No specific action is required on your part.

We are monitoring the progress of this update and will let you know if any changes need to be made to your link or remote connection method.

If you have any questions or notice any unusual behaviour, our Service Desk team is, of course, here to help.

Kind regards,

The Logicaltic team
